Fishing Lodges British Columbia
Fishing Lodges British Columbia
At the Fly Fishing Lodge has remote Fly Fishing just an hour from Vancouver BC. Here fish here we offer Fly Fishing for Freshwater Salmon, Steelhead and Trout.
Why fish with us? The answer is simple: we offer a wilderness, fly fishing experience unlike anything you will find anywhere else in Southwest British Columbia. “A wall of mountains separates the busy city from the most remarkable fishing anywhere,” is how the National Post described our lodge on the Pitt River. Just 30 air miles from Vancouver International Airport, or about 2 hours by car and boat from the city’s downtown core, the wild nature of the Pitt River leaves an impression on all of those that fish here. The Fly Fishing Lodge is accessible by boat or air only, limiting the number of people that visit here, but we have hosted guests from all over the world. They sought us out because this is a special place and we are set up to ensure that you experience the best of it.
With us you wake up river side surrounded by big mountains. Unlike other outfitters who operate around Metro Vancouver, there are no early morning car rides in the dark, followed by a bumpy ride across Pitt Lake just to spend a shortened day day fishing before racing back to the city. As a guest at the Fly Fishing Lodge you will be first to the river, standing in the early morning mist alone with your thoughts ready for the Zen like experience of a full day on the Pitt.
On the river there are many days it will be just you and your guide. We often see bears, eagles, deer and elk as we silently drift the river from run to run. No loud jet boat engines or gasoline smells for our clients! It’s just the sights and sounds of the river as we gently float down the river, fishing to the lodge pull out at the end of the day The only thing to bring you back to reality is the heavy tug on the line as a submarine sized fish takes off with you in tow.
We fish here year round and have explored and fished the valley for over 25 years, and just when we think we have seen it all something new comes along. The Pitt River and Valley are full of new experiences and a lifetime of memories. You don’t have to be a “Hard Core” Fly Fisher to come here, our guides can teach you all you need to know to make your catch of a lifetime. But if you are “Hard Core” our guides can help and possibly teach you the techniques needed to fish Pacific Northwest Coastal rivers. From Sink Tips to Spey Casting our guides provide you safe passage on the river and any tips and techniques you need to make your trip not just a fishing trip, but an awesome fishing trip which will leave you wanting to come here back again and again, and why not, many of our clients do!
Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall the Pitt River offers fishing for all seasons from Steelhead, Sea Run Bull Trout, Chinook Salmon, Sockeye Salmon, Pink Salmon, Chum Salmon, Rainbow Trout, Cutthroat Trout and Coho Salmon. The fish runs bring with them all the wildlife that large migrating fish populations attract. The Pitt River is one that guides want to check off their bucket list of fly fishing experiences.
We are without exception the most experienced operation on the Pitt River. Others will make claim this but they can only offer day excursions to the lower sections of the river. We live, work and fish here year round and two of our guides have combined 60 years fishing experience on the Pitt River so we can offer you an un-paralleled Unique, Wilderness, Fly Fishing experience of a lifetime. All we need is you!
